Abstract

The electronic monograph “Catalog of solar proton events of the 24th cycle of solar activity (2009–2019)” is a continuation of the Catalogs of previous five issues containing data on solar proton events (SPEs) since 1970. The Catalog contains and systematizes data on solar events with proton generation, for which the maximum flux of proton s with energy Ep > 10 MeV exceeded the value of Jp ≥ 1 cm-2 s-1 sr-1 (pfu).

There were 100 such events in the 24th cycle of solar activity. Additionally, 14 more events with Jp (E > 10 MeV) in the range 0.1 ÷ 1 pfu were included with data on all concomitant phenomena of flare activity, similar to the main 100 events. Events with such small fluxes are not represented in other Catalogs.

In addition to data on proton fluxes measured by several spacecraft, and by neutron monitors the Catalog provides information on particle sources and electromagnetic radiation associated with a given event in the entire observable range. For each event, the integral energy spectrum of protons at the maximum of the intensity- time profile is shown.

Unlike previous Catalogs, each event is now illustrated with overview graphs of X-ray radiation, electron and proton fluxes, solar wind velocity, interplanetary magnetic field strength and Dst variation in near-Earth space in the time interval covering this event.
