Combined Catalogue of Magnetic Storms for 1949-1958

Abstract

The Catalogue for 1949-1958 contains information on 262 geomagnetic storms of three intensity categories:  very large, large and moderate, which were observed in one high latitude and 14 mid-latitude observatories of the USSR and also in 4 Soviet Antarctic observatories in 1958. For each storm, the time of the beginning and the end, the duration of the storm and its active periods, the amplitudes of declination, horizontal and vertical components of the field are indicated. This Catalogue complements the sequence of the magnetic storms catalogues, compiled from the results of continuous registrations of the geomagnetic field variations on the territory of the USSR.The data are stored in the World Data Center for Solar-Terrestrial Physics, Moscow (http://www.wdcb.ru/stp/index.en.html).
