Combined Catalogue of Magnetic Storms for 1938-1948

Abstract
The Catalogue of this Handbook contains information about the magnetic storms for 1938-1948. In the Catalogue for each storm data are collected not from one but from six observatories such as Srednikan, Leningrad, Sverdlovsk, Irkutsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Tashkent. Therefore this Catalogue is called a combined catalogue.

In the compilation both the catalogues already published and specially compiled catalogues of individual observatories were used for this handbook.

In total, the Catalogue contains data on 318 storms, including about 35 very large, 73 large and about 208 moderate ones. In the war years, information from the observatory Leningrad was not received.The data are stored in the World Data Center for Solar-Terrestrial Physics, Moscow (http://www.wdcb.ru/stp/index.en.html).

The data are freely accessible.
